Hello friends! Beside passion for discovering new places, I have always wondered, Is travelling worth the amount of money I spend on it? I know many of you might be thinking of it too. Why should we travel? What is it worth spending this much amount of money? So, In my today’s blog, I am going to talk about the benefits of travelling.

  1. Discover yourself

From the beginning of my youth till now, I always thought of me as an Introvert. I never liked going to new places, I was shy to talk to new people, and definitely, the worst public speaker you can ever meet. But, then I discovered that it was just a miss-representation of myself. I get to know what kind of person I am through travelling. It can help you know discover your passion, and find a better track for yourself.

2. Travelling relieves stress

At school or at work, we have a lot of deadlines to compete with and some difficult groups/tasks to work with. Sometimes, life becomes too stressful to handle. Doing the same work, again and again, every day makes life boring also. Travelling actually helps to leave those stressful things behind and gives you a chance to live your life to the fullest. Trust me – You’ll feel better and happier than ever with travelling. The Study says that travelling can help you fight anxiety, reduce stress, decrease the risk of heart attacks and improve your mental health.

3. Discovery of the world

Once you are out of your place, you will get to know that this world is far bigger than you thought of it. There are so many different cultures out there to learn from, so many delicious foods to taste and so many beautiful places to adore. You don’t know, but maybe, you can find your “special one” somewhere else.

4. Improves your communication skills

When I thought of myself as an Introvert, I was very shy. It was the most difficult task for me to start communication with strangers and giving presentations. Travelling to different places helped me to learn and improve my communication skills. Now, it is easier for me to present in front of a huge number of people, and making friends. Maybe for you, it can actually help you to open the doors for becoming a public speaker to PR professional.

5. Improves Confidence

Travelling will inevitably make you more independent and confident. You will realize that you can cope with a lot of unexpected situations. Once you are out there surrounded by unknown faces, you will realize that you can survive without all that help that is always available for you at home. You will likely find out that you are much stronger and braver than you have expected.

Hello Readers!! As I promised you in my last blog, today I am going to tell you about my trip to Canada. I have a lot of information which I cannot express in this blog, but I highly recommend you to check out the attached links to discover more about these places.

Beautiful British Columbia

Vancouver was the first place where I encountered the beauty of Canada. I went to Whistler, approximately two-hour drive from Vancouver, a place for hiking, cycling and skiing. Whistler Blackbomb is the summits of two mountains – connected by the spectacular peak to peak gondola. Whistler pedestrian village is the most alive place I have ever seen. If you ever plan to go to Whistler, I would personally recommend you to try bungee jumping at Whistler Bungee and give yourself an adrenaline rush.

Victoria, situated on Vancouver Island, is a dynamic city that offers a mixture of the past and the present. I went to the British Columbia Parliament, Craigdarroch Castle and Butchart Garden. Butchart Garden is one of the finest gardens in the world and Canada’s most popular attraction in Victoria. I appreciate the floral beauty of this stunning garden.

Are you scared of heights? Then this could either cure you or kill you. I am talking about Capilano Suspension Bridge. Here you can get a glimpse of 400-year-old trees and knowledge of its history.

Friendly Manitoba

Manitoba is considered as the province which has the coldest winter weather than any other province in Canada. It is a province of friendly people, hence, named as friendly Manitoba. According to Destination Canada (2018), “More than half of the world’s polar bears live in Canada” and Churchill is undoubtedly the best place to see play bears in Canada. Yes, polar bears look cute but trust me – Don’t poke them. Churchill States that “It is one of the best places to see Northern Lights” and I don’t doubt it.

Wild Rose Country Alberta

When I entered Alberta, I was curious why it is called as Wild Rose Country? Any guesses? Because the wild rose is its official flower. Alberta is famous for two major tourist destinations, the first one is Banff National Park. It is Canada’s first national park, it has a rich heritage as one of the world’s most inspiring mountain destinations. The second one is Jasper National Park. It is renowned for hiking, skiing and wildlife viewing. Jasper is the wildest of the mountain parks and contains a superb backcountry trail system as well as the world-famous Columbia Icefields, one of the only Icefields in the world accessible by road.

Can you guess the first place where I went when I was in Ontario? It’s Niagara Falls. It is truly a magnificent sight. I also went to Toronto’s CN Tower, Canada’s 550 (approx.) meter tall iconic structure, standing tall along the Toronto skyline. You can eat at the restaurant and can experience the most astounding view of the city and Lake Ontario. The next place I wanted to talk about is Canada’s Wonderland. It is such a huge theme park. This amusement park features roller coasters and thrill rides for children of all ages as well as a water park and live shows. If you are accompanied by your family on your vacation to Canada, this is a personal recommendation for you to visit.

My Dream visit to Africa

Hello Reader! I am Simran and today in my first blog, I am going to share about my first experience as a tourist. Growing up, I used to be very passionate about travelling and seeing wildlife. All I wanted to do was travel the world and see what is out there. I read the experiences of people who had travelled to see nature and they had so much to say about how travelling had changed their lives. I got so curious to want the experience everyone that had travelled was talking about. Travelling to Africa for me remained a dream until last summer holidays. I decided to fulfil my dreams and to begin exploring this beautiful world and get to know its beautiful creatures.

My First Experience with Wildlife

Soon on arrival in Kenya, our tour guard took us to the Nairobi National Park, and this is where I had my first experience with wildlife. I saw a lot of wildlife such as the Gazelles, lions, leopards, and giraffes, to mention but a few. I thought I was the only one to have this experience, but my group had a lot of questions about those scenarios.   This was just the beginning of the African experience. We also visited Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Maasai Mara, and the Serengeti National Park.

The Mara

Maasai Mara is the most visited Geographic Park in African. This is where we got to experience the best culture, food, and wildlife as it was in the magazines. The Maasai Mara National Park has all kinds of wildlife ranging from lions, rhinos, elephants, leopards, gazelles, buffalos, zebras, giraffes and some of the rarest species of wildlife in the world. We were lucky to have visited in June because this is when the wilder beast closes the Serengeti Rivers. There is no experience like seeing how the full beast braves up to close the Serengeti River which is flooded with crocodiles that prey to them. I got to see the wildlife cycle of life. Predators like lions and leopards feasted on weak gazelles and zebras.

Local Cultures

Beyond the wildlife experience, we got to interact with the local communities living close to the park on the Loita Hills. The tour guard we had been travelling with gave us a brief history of the Maasai tribe and gave us a tour of the village. They build houses with mud, sticks, cow dung and grass. The tour guard said that it was one of the African tribes that had followed their traditions for centuries. The Maasai is a tribe well-known for their cultural dance and is great herdsmen. Women and men from this community came out to entertain us with dancing and milk which they called “mursik” from bottles made from cow skin. Learning about different traditions and customs was educative, and it gave me a close understanding of how important it is to maintain a culture in African communities.

Life Lesson

The experience in Africa was the best thing I have ever had my life as it changed my life for the better. I learnt the importance of conserving culture and the need to travel more and experience more cultures around the world. It has always been my dream to have such fun. As such, it marked one of the historical experiences of my life. It was just a beginning as there is a world to explore. In my next blog, I will share my experience with “The Great White North”. What’s The Great White North? – It’s Canada 🇨🇦
